Sumario: This study investigated the presence of Adventure Body Practices (Práticas Corporais de Aventura – PCA) in the initial training of Physical Education (PE) teachers and professionals in Espírito Santo, Brazil. It aimed to diagnose and analyze whether and how these practices are included in undergraduate PE programs, in both bachelor’s and licentiate degrees. Specifically, the study sought to verify their presence or absence in institutional documents, particularly in course syllabi, and to identify potential links with the field of leisure. Adopting documentary methodology and a qualitative and exploratory approach, the research was based on Bardin’s (2011) content analysis and examined documents from seven active Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the state, selected according to established inclusion criteria. The results indicated that, when present, PCAs appear in a heterogeneous and predominantly technical and experiential manner, with limited connection to themes intrinsic to these practices, such as leisure and risk, considering their meanings and significance. The approach was also found to be incipient and weakly connected to sociocultural and regional contexts. It is concluded that the presence of PCAs in the analyzed courses is variable and that their treatment in the examined documents does not present a uniform pattern, thus configuring a field under development within PE training. The study provides contributions to debate and curriculum review, seeking to support the consolidation of PCAs as a legitimate field of professional practice in Physical Education in the state.
