Sumario: Contemporary sport is used as a pedagogical tool in values education and is based on the assumption that there is a possibility of moral development through sports, justifying the inclusion in social sporting projects – PECS. The consolidation of PECS in Brazil is a recent phenomenon, enhanced by legal frameworks that guarantee the financial sustainability of these actions, generally promoted by third sector entities or public agents. PECS are enterprises of civil society organizations or public bodies, not specific to social assistance, which have in offering one or more sports as the main action strategy whose objective is to transform a portion of reality, reducing or eliminating a deficit, or solving a social problem. Despite the discourse and use of sport to teach positive values in PECS, literature reviews demonstrate that there is little evaluation of the results and social impacts. This study followed the path of educational sport institutionalized by the State, from the perspective of non-formal education, practiced in PECS. We believe in sport as an axiological meta language, as there is an understanding of the production of different meanings generated by the practice of sport for different audiences. We propose to investigate the effects of PECS, Escola de Craques, located in the neighborhood of Carapina Grande, in the municipality of Serra – ES, prioritizing the investigation into the effects of this experience on the pro-social behavior of the participants. Our research is qualitative as it uses quantification in the modalities of information collection and data processing, using statistical procedures. To collect information with the aim of unveiling the effects of sports projects with a social nature, in an attitudinal dimension we will use the pro-social behavior assessment instrument called “Prosocial Behavior Questionnaire” – PBQ (Weir; Duveen, 1981) translated and adapted by Rosa (2016). Our hypothesis is that PEC promote education in values through sport intended to change for the better or maintain the pro-social behavior of those served. The data demonstrates evidence that students improved their prosocial behavior after 8 months of participation in PECS, Escola de Craques. However, for the group aged 7 to 10 years, the improvement was not significant. For the group aged 11 to 14 years, the improvement was significant. Therefore, we understand the educational power of sport and realize the need to plan, execute and evaluate the pedagogical content offered at PECS, Escola de Craques, on the social effects of sport on the lives of these children and adolescents in a more effective way.
