Summary: It analyzes how the writers in circulation in the periodic teaching and technical press (1932-1960), based on Swedish and German methods, guided the teaching of Physical Education. In particular, it investigates the processes with which these forms were constituted as devices for didactic-pedagogical use, favoring the insertion and consolidation of Physical Education in school curricula. It takes as a reference the theoretical-methodological assumptions of the critical-documental analysis (BLOCH, 2001), of the indiciary paradigm (GINZBURG, 1989), and the concept of power relations (GINZBURG, 2002). The focus on the process of delimiting the documentary corpus turned to matters characterized by didactic-pedagogical guidelines based on Swedish and German methods. The 300 mapped articles are distributed as follows: REF (68), REPhy (121), RBEF (88), BEF (10) and AENEFD (13). The dissertation has three axes of analysis, intrinsically related: a) the way in which the Swedish and German methods were discussed and put into circulation, also problematizing the editorial profile of the printed material in relation to the methods analyzed; b) the writers, their institutional ties and their formative trajectories, whose purpose was to identify the different groups that published on the Swedish and German methods, as well as their characteristics; c) the way in which the writers, based on Swedish and German methods, organized the teaching of Physical Education, making magazines into didactic-pedagogical devices. The analysis process showed what, despite the French method, has been made official as the one that would base the teaching of Physical Education in secondary institutions, the editors and writers developed tactics to disseminate didactic-pedagogical orientations based on the Swedish and German methods, signaling that, even if they were not considered official, both methods offered the necessary subsidies to insert and strengthen Physical Education in school curricula.
